The Close microphone perspective is placed inside the piano very close to the strings and gives powerful bass and a very detailed sound and a wide stereo image.

The sample-set includes five velocity layers plus a resonance layer. Each note of the piano was recorded for full duration, providing an accurate sound with no artificial decay envelopes or sample loops. 

The library requires 1.9GB if fully loaded into sample memory but only 40MB when using virtual memory. 16 Programs are provided.

With the player perspective, the microphone is placed above the head of the piano player. The stereo image is almost like the one you get when you play, the sound is brighter and has more air than the close position.

The Player version includes five velocity layers plus a resonance layer. Each note of the piano was recorded for full duration, providing an accurate sound with no artificial decay envelopes or sample loops. 

It requires 1.8GB when fully loaded into sample memory but only 40MB if using virtual memory. 18 Programs are included.

If you purchased the bundle with both microphone positions, then loading C7 Grand Duo.PCG loads both Program sets into a single bank and includes Duo versions which bring the two phase-aligned sample-sets into a single Program.

EXs149 A-Pian

This particular piano was build in 1960 and is referred to as a “crapaud” (“Petite Grand” in English), which means that it’s a little smaller than a “quart de queue” (baby grand). It has a very particular sound, very bright and full of inharmonicity in the bass due to the short length of the strings.

The sample-set includes three velocity sustain layers, three velocity release layers, key noises plus a resonance layer. Each note of the piano was recorded for full duration, providing an accurate sound with no artificial decay envelopes or sample loops. 

It requires 501MB if fully loaded into sample memory but only 21MB when using virtual memory. 11 Programs are provided.

The B-Pian Upright is an old, out-of-tune, mechanically imperfect but highly usable upright piano.

The AkousKontr is German 4/4 four strings Upright bass. 

The sample-set includes five velocity sustain layers, eight velocity release layers, plus hammer on and harmonics. Each note was recorded for full duration, providing an accurate sound with no artificial decay envelopes or sample loops.

The VibysM is a 3 1/2 octaves Musser concert vibraphone. This is one of the best vibraphone models ever made. It was played with soft mallets during the recording session to capture the maximum of dynamics and the softness of this instrument. 

The sample-set includes eight velocity sustain layers and three velocity release layers. Each note was recorded for full duration, providing an accurate sound with no artificial decay envelopes or sample loops. It was recorded with in ORTF configuration for a full stereo image.

It requires 524MB if fully loaded into sample memory but only 38MB when using virtual memory. Seven Programs are provided.
